Despite the extreme challenges facing our Clubs, The Boys & Girls Club of Metro South is determined to remain a source of hope and help to the youth who rely on us. We are continuing to provide desperately needed resources to our members during this critical time by offering online resources, daily virtual programming, and access to Club curricula via our website and social media platforms in order to continue supporting our members’ education and positive development.
Additionally, our Clubs also continue to provide nutritional assistance to all youth ages 18 and under in Brockton and Taunton through the provision of grab-and-go dinner service between 4:30-5:30 PM Monday through Friday. We know that nutritional assistance is one of the key supports that our Clubs provide to our members on a daily basis. With this in mind, we began operating our grab-and-go dinner program on Wednesday, March 18th – just two days after our doors first closed for regular programming and we have made the commitment to continue providing these services and supports until we can resume regular Club operations. Children must be present at pick-up and one meal per child is being served on a first-come-first-served basis. We are providing up to 3 meals per child on Fridays to ensure youth have access to dinners over the weekend. We are also providing boxes with fresh produce and nonperishable food (pasta, canned goods, etc.) during Friday afternoon meal service.
