The Theatre for Kids program breaks down barriers to make the performing arts accessible for ALL kids, regardless of socioeconomic background or ability, introducing them to new dreams and life-changing experiences.
In 2025, we will provide access to the arts to 10,000 kids, with at least 20% of these tickets reserved for kids of differing abilities, marking our 100,000th kid enriched by the magic of live, professional theatre!
It all begins with a ticket.
Entering the awe-inspiring theatre, being escorted to your seat, the lights going down and the curtain going up, becoming immersed in the world of the actors and artists –it opens doors and creates opportunities each and every time.
But how do we ensure all kids experience this magic – regardless of the barriers in their way?
The Theatre for Kids program makes the performing arts accessible, giving every child the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of the performing arts.
In the kids’ own words, Theatre for Kids experiences are “mind blowing” and “the best experience in Boston so far” that their family had. Rodman for Kids is breaking down barriers to provide access so that every child can develop their own relationship with performing arts, and realize that all are welcome in this space.
Every trip to the theatre is an experience, but it’s lasting impact depends on how well it is reinforced beyond the performance. Rodman for Kids’ Connect, Uplift, and Empower (CUE) Model structures and reinforces the Theatre for Kids program, deepening engagement, enhancing takeaways, and fostering a stronger connection to the arts.
It may all begin with a ticket, but that ticket opens a door to a world of endless possibilities.
We work with performing arts organizations to lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit.
Through Rodman for Kids, tickets are dispersed to a network of more than 200 youth-focused non-profits and schools across Massachusetts. Since 2003, Rodman for Kids has enriched more than 100,000 children with the magic of performing arts.

Since 2001, the Theatre for Kids program has introduced more than 80,000 kids to the magic of performing arts.

Marilyn Rodman impacted countless individuals throughout her life, most notably the thousands of children for whom she advocated.
In addition to raising her own five boys, she served on the Canton School Committee for over 20 years. In that role, Marilyn’s work to maintain and build arts in schools was legendary.
She was also the inspiration for our Theatre for Kids program. As the story goes, her husband, Ride President Don Rodman, was frequently sending kids to professional sporting events when she told him, “There’s another world out there besides sports, you know!” With her encouragement, Don bought out the Opera House to send at-risk kids to see South Pacific in 2001. The rest is history.
While Marilyn will forever be missed, her generous spirit will live on through our Theatre for Kids Program.
