Flying High with Theatre for Kids: 2,500 Kids Experience the Magic of Peter Pan

Last week, Rodman for Kids took 2,500 kids on an unforgettable adventure to Neverland with a spectacular performance of Peter Pan! As part of our Theatre for Kids program, this special event was more than just a show—it was an opportunity to create lasting memories, inspire imaginations, and ensure that every child could fully experience the magic of live theatre.

One of the most meaningful aspects of the day was our commitment to accessibility, ensuring that all audience members, regardless of ability, could engage with the performance. For our visually impaired guests, we provided a touch tour and audio description, allowing them to experience the world of Peter Pan through detailed narration and hands-on interaction with elements of the show. For our hearing-impaired attendees, American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters brought the story to life, ensuring that every thrilling moment—from Peter’s daring flights to Captain Hook’s mischievous schemes—was fully understood and enjoyed.

After the final bow, the excitement continued with a talkback session with the cast, giving kids a behind-the-scenes look at the magic of theatre. Kids learned about the actors’ experiences and got an exclusive peek into the hard work and passion that goes into bringing a show like Peter Pan to the stage.

The joy, wonder, and excitement on the faces of the kids in the audience reinforced why we do what we do. Live theatre has the power to spark creativity, foster a love for the arts, and open doors to new possibilities. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success—from our incredible partners to the talented cast and crew, and, of course, to the young audience members who brought their energy and enthusiasm to Neverland with us!

Stay tuned for more incredible Theatre for Kids experiences, and thank you for helping us make theatre accessible, engaging, and unforgettable for all!
