Today marks a special milestone for Rodman for Kids as we proudly launch the Theatre for Kids Hall of Fame—a new tradition to honor the extraordinary individuals whose passion, dedication, and vision have shaped our Theatre for Kids program.
It’s only fitting that our inaugural inductees are the very people whose unwavering commitment brought Theatre for Kids to life: Marilyn and Don Rodman. It was only fitting to induct them on June 3rd, Marilyn Rodman’s birthday!
As Marilyn once said to Don, “There’s another world out there besides sports, you know, Donny!”
It was Marilyn’s belief that every child deserves access to the transformative power of the arts that sparked the creation of the Theatre for Kids program in 2003. Her vision, paired with Don’s steadfast support, ensured that no child would be left on the sidelines of a magical, live theatre experience—no matter the barriers in their way.
Their shared dedication lives on in every child whose world has been expanded by the arts. Since its inception, Theatre for Kids has enriched almost 100,000 kids with the wonder of live performance, fostering imagination, empathy, and connection in every seat we fill.
Today, as we posthumously induct Marilyn and Don into the Theatre for Kids Hall of Fame, we honor not just their vision but their legacy—a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Stay tuned as we celebrate more incredible honorees who have made Theatre for Kids what it is today, and thank you for being a part of our journey to make the arts accessible to all.
