We’re thrilled to welcome Camryn MacIver to the Rodman for Kids team! As our new Development & Events Assistant, Camryn brings creativity, energy, and a deep passion for community engagement. We sat down with her to learn more about what brought her to Rodman for Kids and what she’s most excited about in this new role.
Can you tell us a little about your background and what brought you to Rodman for Kids?
Camryn: My background is rooted in event planning, creative activations, and community engagement. I’ve always been passionate about creating memorable experiences that bring people together and make a lasting impact. When I learned about Rodman for Kids and its mission, I knew it was something that I wanted to be a part of.
What excites you most about joining the Rodman for Kids team?
Camryn: I am so excited to be a part of a team that’s driven by purpose. There’s something energizing about working with people who are passionate about making a difference.
Is there a particular project or event you’re most looking forward to working on?
Camryn: As a dance teacher and choreographer, I’ve always loved sharing my passion for the arts with my students. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them gain confidence, express themselves, and find joy through being creative. I’m excited to bring that same energy to my work at Rodman for Kids, especially through the Theatre for Kids program, where I can help facilitate access to the arts in a new and meaningful way.
How do you see your role supporting our mission to empower youth-focused organizations?
Camryn: In my role, I hope to support the mission by helping to create memorable events and efficient processes that amplify the work Rodman for Kids is doing.
What impact do you hope to make through your work here?
Camryn: I hope to have a positive impact on both the people I work with and the projects I support. Whether through the small, everyday contributions that keep things running smoothly or by playing a role in larger initiatives that help move our mission forward.
Do you have a favorite quote or personal mantra that motivates you?
Camryn: One mantra I come back to often is: “Start now – adjust later.” It reminds me not to let fear or perfectionism hold me back. Whether I’m choreographing a piece, planning an event, or starting something new, this mindset encourages me to take that first step with confidence. I’ve learned that growth happens in the process—you don’t have to have all the answers to begin. You just have to be willing to learn, adapt, and keep moving forward.
We’re so excited to have Camryn on board and can’t wait to see the incredible work she’ll do. Welcome to the Rodman for Kids team, Camryn!
