Last Saturday, more than 400 riders, alongside hundreds of volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and supporters, gathered in Foxboro for the 36th Annual Ride for Kids – a day that once again proved the incredible power of community.
From the early morning check-ins and cheering crowds to the final riders crossing the finish line, the day was filled with energy, purpose, and a shared commitment to supporting kids across Massachusetts.
But as always, the Ride for Kids was about much more than miles ridden. It was about showing up for youth-focused nonprofits and the thousands of children and families they serve year-round.
“Ride day is such a powerful reminder of what’s possible when people come together around a shared mission,” said Amy Rossman, Executive Director of Rodman for Kids. “Every rider, volunteer, sponsor, and donor plays a role in creating brighter futures for kids across our community. The Ride has always been special, but seeing this community continue to grow after 36 years makes this day even more meaningful.”
Since 1991, the Ride for Kids has raised more than $160 million to support youth-focused nonprofits throughout Massachusetts. Today, Rodman for Kids continues to strengthen its network of Charity Partners through collaboration opportunities, professional development, an ecosystem of like-minded organizations, and access to resources that help them better serve kids and families.
“Watching this community come together in support of our Charity Partners is what makes the Ride so meaningful,” said Bill Stiles, Director of Programs at Rodman for Kids. “The Ride for Kids is a cost-free fundraising platform, which means our Charity Partners are able to focus on their missions while keeping 100% of the funds they raise. But beyond fundraising, the Charity Partner Program is about collaboration, connection, and making sure organizations have the support and resources they need to continue creating opportunities for kids across Massachusetts.”
This year’s event also featured the 2nd Annual Ride for Kids Jr., where young riders participated in their own cycling experience through the Tiny Obstacle Course and Mini Ride. The Ride for Kids Jr. continued to showcase how the next generation is already learning the importance of giving back and being part of something bigger than themselves.
Despite the long day and tired legs, the atmosphere throughout the day remained joyful and celebratory from start to finish.
As fundraising continues through September 1st, the impact of Ride Day will continue long after the final bike is packed away.
Because when a community comes together like this, it creates brighter futures for kids.
