Meet Jessica Feenan, Rodman for Kids’ Director of Development! Jessica has been a part of the team since September 2017 and has been a huge contributor to our success and growth!
We chatted with Jessica about why she loves Rodman for Kids’ mission and what she’s excited about in our future!
What is your role at Rodman for Kids and what do you enjoy most about your work?
I’m the Director of Development here and I love being a part of an organization making a difference in the lives of local kids.
How did you first get involved with Rodman for Kids?
I was first introduced to Rodman for Kids when I worked for a former Charity Partner. I was the Ride for Kids lead so I attended all of the meetings at the big table here in our conference room and I always walked away feeling inspired. I started working here in 2017 as an Events and Communications Assistant and have been involved in other roles and responsibilities since then! I became our Director of Development this past January.
How did you first connect to the mission of Rodman for Kids?
When I was nine years old and a student in the Everett Public Schools, our class was gifted tickets to see “The Nutcracker,” which was my first theatre experience. I fell in love with it! My mom would go to the theatre with friends and would come home playing the music, so I was intrigued by it. I begged my parents to take me to see “Phantom of the Opera” a couple of years after that first experience. I think I subconsciously was drawn to Rodman for Kids partly because of our Theatre for Kids program but also because we’re so unique – we bring together nonprofits who are like minded so they can share their challenges and triumphs – I don’t know of anyone else in the nonprofit space who has created a community like this. It’s something special.

Who inspires you, either in your professional or personal life, and why?
My kids and husband – it sounds so cliché but it’s true! I’m inspired by our Founder, Don Rodman, and his incredible legacy. I was fortunate enough to work for him for two years before he passed so I feel incredibly honored to be a part of carrying his legacy forward.
Last question – What are you most excited about for the future of Rodman for Kids?
It’s such an exciting time here – our Theatre for Kids program is growing leaps and bounds, we have exciting things coming with our brand, and our team is growing. I’m excited to take it to the next level!
